¡Vota a Georgia Fields!

Vote for Georgia Fields!

Vota a Georgia Fields

You might remember Georgia Fields from previous posts, but it case you don’t, they’re a young and very talented music group from Oz, and here at BPC we simply love their music. We are asking people to follow my mate Will’s lead and vote for them on the following link:

University Budget Cuts: Student Involvement

It seems we are improving how to do things here in terms of the students community. We are having some budget cut for the fiscal year 2009 at the University of Arizona and people is getting involve within the protest. May be this is Obama’s plan to solve the finantial crisis.

This morning I had and email from ASUA Student Body President and we are having a huge movilization to the Arizona State Capitol at Phoenix on Wednesday to let them know we are not going to allow this budget draft to become real.

The email reads as follow:

Dear Wildcats: The Arizona State Legislature will be making difficult final decisions on mid-year budget cuts for fiscal year 2009 in the very near future. In an effort to ensure that our students all make their voice’s heard, The Associated Students of the University of Arizona, Graduate & Professional Student Council alongside the Arizona Students’ Association will be providing students an opportunity to travel up to the Arizona State Capitol on Wednesday January 28th. The details are as follows:

Arizona State Capitol Trip

Wednesday January 28, 2009
Depart Campus: 9am
Return to Campus: 5pm (at the latest)

Breakfast & Lunch will be provided
25 buses will be leaving The University of Arizona on Wednesday morning, which means we only have room for 1,500 students of our 38,000 – sign up quickly to make your voice heard. If you would like to go, we need you to sign-up by Tuesday 5pm on January 27th.

BPC Will be there. For sure I will cancel my classes.

Bici/Bike/Fiets/Vélo/Fahrrad/自転車/Cykel

Let me introduce you to the bikes that I’ve bought or someone gave me in the last three years or so. Before these ones I had a BH California X4 and a Orbea Cervino, I had no pictures of them. All of these except the mountain bike and the 6 gear vintage, one was stolen and the other I decided to sell it, I’ve got them all and they are running. Could it be any Diogenes Syndrome about bikes? Furthermore and little by little things become more radical.

BPC & iPhone/iPod touch

BPC is about style, you already know that. I recently got an iPod touch (great wee gadget, not that the nice people at Cupertino need my free publicity, but after using this I can’t really see the point of a netbook) and subsequently added BPC to the main screen. The icon was just a lame minituare screenshot of the main page. Now, of you add us to your iPhone or iPod’s main screen, you get a nice icon, as chic as BPC.

We the people…

Today is a day that will open a chapter in history books, today is the inaugural speech of the 44th president of the United States. And just curiously everybody is thinking backwards and they ask themselves why; how they were 8 years ago and how they are now.

Now that he is finally going back to Texas everyone is complaining about his two terms. Even the incoming president in the inaugural speech talked about restore the vital trust between the people and their government. It is unbelieve the euphoria that you can feel around campus in a southwest town of the States. Students did not come to class today because of the speech and now every single one is open mind.

We hope a change. The actitude at least is possitive.

For the record, yesterday it was bank holiday here in the States, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
