Vienen de Australia y nos traen una nueva dosis de pop. POP del bueno.
Con un magnífico single (“Sweet Dispositions”) como carta de presentación, con el que no paran de sonar en “XFM” la radio londinense por excelencia, y que ha sido incluido por duplicado dentro de la banda sonora original de “500 Días Juntos” (un tontuna de película que intenta parecerse a la magistral “Olvídate de mí” de Michel Gondry y se queda en una sombra difusa de ésta) anoche aterrizaron en la madrileña Moby Dick y la dejaron a puntito de colgar el cartel de Sold Out. Atención: un domingo!!!
Teloneados por unos nada despreciables The Joy, a los que habrá que tener en cuenta como nuevos hermanos pequeños de Interpol y Editors, The Temper Trap desde que salieron al escenario se metieron al público en el bolsillo que no paró dejó de corear sus mejores canciones, con un vocalista que parecía sentir cada línea de cada estrofa de cada canción que tocaban y que no titubea en la hora de enfrentarse a los tonos más altos de sus composiciones, un bajista que no paraba de moverse sobre el mínimo espacio que tenía sobre el escenario, dos guitarras afiladas al estilo The Edge, y un baterista de esos que siguen la norma aquella de “toques bien o toques mal, pégale fuerte”. Una buena banda que, cómo mínimo, dio la sensación de disfrutar mucho en el escenario, que no es poco. En algo menos de una hora en la que fueron desgranando todo el contenido de su primer y único album “Conditions”, más una versión acústica (de relleno) del Dancing in the Dark de Springsteen (por cierto que ya se la hizo Amy MacDonald este verano en SONORAMA) y en la que convencieron a todos los que estuvimos presentes.
Vamos a seguirles la pista porque no me extrañaría nada encontrame con ellos en algún festival de verano. El sábado 3 de julio de 2010, a las 16.30 en Werchter me viene bien, alguien se apunta??
They come from Australia and they bring to us a brand new pop. Cool Pop, no doubt.
With their great single “Sweet Dispositions”, as a presentation card, that it’s non stop playing on the XFM, our favourite london radiostation, and it has been included, twice, in the original sound track of the “500 days of summer”, an empty film which try to be another “Ethernal sunshine on the spotless mind”, wonderful film by Michel Gondry, but it failed, last night they landed in the madrilean Moby Dick with a crowd of fans in the lounge, and it was Sunday evening!!
The Joy, who sound like Interpol or Editors, opened the night and they were nice, however, since The Temper Trap got up the stage everyone between the audience became exited, with the lead vocalist felling every word of the lyrics and fearless to get the high tones of the songs, with a bassplayer who was dancing without a brake, with two guitars that remember to “The Edge”, and a drummer who plays hard. I can say that The Temper Trap, at least, enjoy on the stage and enjoy us. An hour more or less of a amazing concert with whole songs of the first long play “Conditions”, plus an unplugged “Dancing in the Dark” by Springsteen cover (Amy Macdonald done it too in a spanish summer festival).
We must follow them cause I guess they are playing in a international summer festival, Rock Werchter 2010 maybe. Shall you come with me??
