Rara vez tenemos ocasión para postear cuando estamos en el mismo sitio los dos. Desde Madrid, esta semana el video que os presentamos es el primer single del nuevo álbum de los Scissor sisters, por recomendación de nuestra colega Bea.
Esta semana nuestro vídeo de la semana tiene que ser Muse en directo. ¿Por qué? Porque el miércoles estaremos en el Calderón viéndoles tocar. ¡Qué ganas por favorrrr!

Como os contaba el post de Giromania! hace poco tuve el placer de asistir al Festival de cine sobre bicis en Ámsterdam (el BFF). El BFF es un festival global, que recorre todo el mundo (en España para en Barcelona) mostrando cortos y largos sobre la bici y todo lo que la rodea. En Ámsterdam creo que era la primera vez que se celebraba, y no defraudó.
El festival se dividió en tres sesiones, la primera compuesta por cortometrajes urbanos, y las otras dos por un corto y una largo cada una. Para los más interesado, en la web del festival está el programa completo, con títulos y directores. bicyclefilmfestival.com/amsterdam/
Como en cualquier muestra, había obras mejores y peores. En general me gustó mucho ver tanto cine y tanta bici juntas. Todo ello en un palco cerveza en mano! He estado buscando por internez para colgaros un par de cortos, de los que he encotrado, os dejo el corto de animación Bike Ride, de Tom Schroeder:
Y el trailer del documental (duraba como 11 min) espítitu de acero, sobre el mínimo constructor de cuadros italiano “Ciocc”, y como ha encontrado una nueva fuente de inspiración en el mundo del piñón fijo.

Tras el Festival se inauguró la exposición sobre piñón fijo y ciclismo urbano Sur Place. La muestra recogía una impresionante colección del bicis, fotografías de ciclistas que habían tenido experiencias cercanas a la muerte y un pequeño velódromo que recorría todo el espacio.
Además de cervezas y buena músico, hubo un concurso de sprints, como no podía ser de orta forma.
A few posts ago I was telling you about the Giromania! in Amsterdam. Later that same day I went to the Bicycle Film Festival (BFF). The BFF is a global festival that’s held in different cities every year and that showcases films about bikes. I must say it was as cool as it sounds. Really.
The Festival was divided in three sessions. First there was a collection of Urban bike shorts, and the second and third session each had a short and a long film. You can read the complete programme here: http://www.bicyclefilmfestival.com/amsterdam/
As in any festival, some films were better than others, but overall I really enjoyed it. Bicycles, films, beer… what’s there not to like! I’ve searched for a few of the short films I liked, and here are two I found: Bike Ride, by Tom Schroede.
And the trailer for Soul of Steel, a Portrait of the legendary Italian Frame Builder Giovanni Pelizzoli aka “Ciocc” . Ciocc shares his wisdom and life story while handbuilding a revolutionary new frame for urban fixed gear cycling. Ciocc demonstrates that the tradition and craft of framebuilding’s Golden age can be re-born and push the technical frontier of Cycling’s future.

After the festival, we went to the opening of Sur Place, and exhibition about urban cycling and fixed gear bikes. Lots of bike porn, pictures of riders after near-death experiences and a cool wee track that went around the whole place.
On top of the beers and the good music, there was a sprint competition -naturally.
Nada como unos días entre amigos, con dos desayunos, codillo para comer, pizza para cenar y todas la cerveza necesaria. Fuimos allir a visitar a nuestra colega Monica, que se escinde detrás de la cámara. Como anécdota, el improvisado monumento a Jacko. De los que hacen surf en un río en mitad de la ciudad, por desgracia, no tengo fotos.
There’s nothing like spending a few days with your friends, eating breakfast twice, having Schweinshaxe for lunch everyday, pizza for dinner and the beer available to us. We went there to visit our dear friend Monica, who hides behid the camera in picture. No to be missed, Jacko’s monument. Unfortunately, I have not pictures of the cool cats surfing in the river, right there, in the city.
Bueno, es viernes y toca vídeo. A lo mejor me las estoy jugando un poco con este vídeo, creo que la última vez que colgue algo en lo que salía Jack White hubo divisón de opiniones. A mi me encantan The Raconteurs, y este tema en especial. Es una versión del Rich Kid Blues de Marienne Faithfull. No tiene vídeo oficial, por eso cuelgo un directo (mejor que los vídeos que hace la peña con fotos, ejem).

ITS FRIDAY! HELL YEAH! and here’s the video for the weekend. We usually get mixed reactions from you to Jack White’s work, but I really love The Raconteurs, and this song in particular – a cover of Marienne Faithfull’s Rich Kid Blues. There’s no official video, that’s why I’ve posted a live version.
