Hi everyone!,
I’m back with a new issue of “And who the fuck are they?”. This is my second column, and I’m going to write about my other 2008 fetish group. This time I’l try to be less passionate, but I promise nothing, because there is passion, and a lot!.
These guys are called Love of Lesbian. Despite of the English name, they are spanish, from Barcelona. Although their first records were in English, I will focus on the two latest ones, in which they had the lucky idea of recording in Spanish, and are undoubtedly their best.
Their music is quite accessible, light pop, in fact I think that if this group were aired in major radio stations, they could be as big as Amaral or Ivan Ferreiro. Quality music with a nice wrapping. I dare you to listen to “Maniobras de escapismo” or “Cuentos chinos para niños del japón” two or three times. If you don’t like them, you better stop reading this column, you won’t find anything easier here.
What I like best from them is the personal world they have created, reflected in everything they do, songs, lyrics, concerts, blogs… Everything is coherent. They conceive music as a vehicle for fun, what does not mean that they don’t have deep and serious songs, there must be everything in this life. They alternate really funny songs with “serious” ones (Why funny things cannot be considered serious”?). Their concerts are extremely funny, they wear disguises, dance with the audience… An experience!.
I’m going to link a few songs, but this time, it will be the author the one who explains them. He has a blog (Great, by the way), in which he explains all the songs of the band.

Lately, their “hit”, a Christmas carol with all the irony in the world, telling a catastrophic christmas eve familiar dinner. Pay attention to the lyrics, they are really fun. Dedicated to those who have familiar christmas events.

This is all for today, I’ve finished with my fetish groups in 2008. Let’s see what 2009 brings. Me myself, I have a list of groups which is continuously growing!.
